Two Years & Going Strong!

Not so long ago we embarked on a journey, a journey which brought us in contact with many aspiring & budding artists. It was 2 years ago that we launched our initiative – Launchpad. Since then, we have helped more than 35 brands connect with consumers. We admit with great pride that we have succeeded in our endeavour of being a platform to help budding artists launch their creativity.

Two years seems like a long time but when we look back, we can’t help but feel elated with the response we have got for Launchpad. From Home Décor to Apparels, from Fashion Accessories to Lifestyle Products, we have seen it all!

When we started Launchpad, our aim was to showcase the skills and creativity of upcoming entrepreneurs sprouting all around us. Now that we think of it, we are  pleased with the initiative and the efforts put-in by entire The Bombay Store team and the participating brands. We have always appreciated good talent and have helped launch a few big brands earlier. We aspire to continue the tradition and hope that many more will become big names in the near future!

We would like to extend our gratitude to all the brands that participated in Launchpad. Thank you for making our endeavour so successful.

In keeping with the 2 year old successful tradition, we would like to welcome all the aspiring artists who are looking for a platform to be seen! After successfully launching this initiative at our flagship store at PM Road, we have now extended this it to our outlets at M.G.Road, Pune,Linking Road and Khar as well. So The Bombay Store is calling all the upcoming artists to explore this unique opportunity and make it big.

SEWA – A Non-Profit Organisation at The Bombay Store’s Launchpad

Our initiative to help launch young designers and brands is doing phenomenally well and we have showcased over 20 brands under ‘Launchpad’ since last April.  Launchpad has now taken a different turn as we have on display SEWA Trade Facilitation Centre; a non-profit organisation.

SEWA is a trade union registered in 1972 – An organisation of poor, self-employed women workers. Their main goals are to organise women workers for full employment & self-reliance. Founded by Magsaysay winner Ela Bhatt, at present SEWA has a membership base of 1.2 million. In response to the demand for creating sustainable livelihood strategies for the poorest of the poor women producers, The SEWA Trade Facilitation Centre (STFC) was established in May 2003 as the commercial arm of SEWA by more than 15000 women artisans in the textiles and handicrafts sector. Hansiba – The fashion brand of STFC represents thousands of women with precious skill of hand embroidery & craft. Every single Hansiba creation is painstakingly shaped by artisans whose families have been involved in the craft for many generations, across centuries, often in the face of extremely harsh situations.

SEWA TFC will be on display at The Bombay Store, Fort Mumbai from 22nd January to 28th Feb with a wide collection of Cushion covers, handbags, door panels, calendar, wall pieces, Ipad covers and a contemporary range of Kurtas.

Drop in at our store and join us in supporting this movement by women workers.
